Collection Notice
Effective (draft): July 2026
A short, layered notice of what we collect and why, given at the point of collection. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
What we’re collecting and why
When you add a child and upload a report, we collect your account details, your child’s first name, year level and school, and the report itself. We use these to extract the grades and comments, show them to you to confirm, and build your private dashboard.
The key points
- You must be the child’s parent or legal guardian and authorised to upload the report.
- The original file is deleted as soon as you confirm the extracted grades — we keep only the structured data.
- Your child’s name is encrypted and never leaves our family-private store.
- Anonymous year-level comparison is optional and off by default. If you opt in, we store only a random token plus school, year level and grade — never a name.
- The AI that reads your report runs on Anthropic’s Claude API, hosted in the United States, so the report leaves Australia to be read. A human (you) confirms every result; there are no automated decisions without your review.
- We never sell your data, never use it to train third-party AI models, and never use children’s data for advertising.
Your choices
You can export or delete your data at any time from your account, withdraw a consent, and contact us at privacy@schoolreportvic.ai. If you don’t provide the information above, we won’t be able to process that report.
